FALLS COUNTY 40 AND 8 PLANS WRECK IN MARLIN

 

Officers Installed at Meeting of Veterans Organization Held Here.

 

A “Big Wreck” in Marlin May 23 was decided upon by the Falls county “40 and 8” at a meeting in the city hall here Tuesday night.

 

This will be the first initiatory ceremony of the organization for membership in which world war veterans of the Rosebud, Lott and Marlin Legion posts are eligibile.

 

The meeting in Marlin was the first held here, although previous sessions have been held at Rosebud, where organization was perfected, and at Lott.

 

An elaborate program is being planned in connection with the “Wreck”, invitations having been extended to Bell and McLennan county drum and bugle corps to attend and participate in a parade preceding the ceremony.

 

Officers were installed Tuesday night, these being Joe Vlha of Rosebud, chef de gare; G. L. Hutchings, of Marlin, chef de train; Sam Henslee of Rosebud, commissaire intendent and correspondnent; V. R. Marek of Marlin, conductor; E. C. Kemble of Lott, garde de la porte; Scotty Crowder of Rosebud, lampiste; August Boedecker of Lott, commis voyageur; and O. A. Edwards of Marlin, J. R. Montford of Rosebud and Fred Sliva of Lott, chemenots locaux.
